Flurry, a company that focuses on app analytics and monetization, has published an article today that claims that China is quickly moving up the world ranks when it comes to Android and Apple iOS device activations. Flurry claims that China is now leading all other countries in new activations of iOS and Android devices on a daily basis. The U.S. accounted for 28 percent of global iOS and Android device activations as of January 2011 based on Flurry\'s data, but now stands at only 21 percent after peaking at 34 percent in December of 2011. China, on the other hand, has had a steady climb and now accounts for nearly a quarter of global iOS and Android activations (24 percent) - putting it in the lead for the first time. The company also says that while its data revealed China to be in the number 10 position worldwide in terms of application use at the start of 2011, it had moved into the number 2 spot by year end - leaving only the United States ahead of it. Flurry has highlighted a number of other trends in the full article on its blog. The company\'s data is culled from the more than 60,000 companies that offer over 160,000 applications that make use of Flurry\'s services.
