Israeli Minister of Defense Ehud Barak warned that Iran would succeed in developing nuclear weapons in less than one year. Time is almost out to stop the Iranian nuclear activities, Radio Israel quoted Barak as saying early on Sunday. Continuous Iranian efforts of possessing a nuclear weapon will put Tehran in secure status and offer it immunity, it quoted him AS saying, alluding to its standoff with the super powers over its controversial nuclear program He refused to disclose any details concerning Israeli plans to take action against Iran in the future to stop this project, adding that this issue is not subject to public debate. Iran's possesion of nuclear weapons will lead to serious regional repercussions, he warned further. He expected a number of countries to "follow the steps of Iran like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey," thus boosting possibility that terrorist groups might eventually put their hand on nuclear substances. He called on the international community to tighten sanctions on Iran, so that it stop its nuclear project.
