Under the patronage of the Board Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and President of the Central Informatics and Communication Organisation Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Amer, the Bahrain Society of Engineers will organize, in cooperation with TRA, the Arab Information and Communication Technology Forum 2012 (Arab ICT 2012 Forum) from October 1 to 2. On the occasion, Chairman of the Bahrain Society of Engineers Engineer Abdulmajeed Al Qassab said that the event aims to establish an enduring interaction and cooperation between the local and regional ICT leaders and professionals and to engage in discussions related to the latest global development in the ICT sector that is affecting policy makers and stakeholders and hence make it a powerful opportunity for learning.. It is worth noting that the forum will cover a variety of topics including: Global trends in the development of ICT services and applications, Challenges facing the Telecommunication industry and operators, latest developments of New technologies in the Arab Region, challenges opportunities of Cloud Computing and virtualization, latest Trends and Practices using ICT to deliver e-Government Services, Public and Private investment initiatives for ICT Development, role of ICT in the Development of Education, Training and Scientific Research , contribution of the ITU in the development of ICT in the Arab Region, role of Information and Communications Technology to reduce the effects of natural and humanitarian disasters and the application of Green Technology in ICT hardware. Arab ICT 2012 Forum is the ideal gathering for ICT professionals and managers for networking and keeping abreast of the development in the ICT field which will enable them to make the right investment decisions, improve their operational excellence strategies, contribute towards better customer experience, and get ideas for new products and services which will boost business growth, performance , efficiency and innovation. The first edition of the forum was held in Bahrain in November, 2010 and attracted a significant number of ICT professionals from the public and private sectors in Bahrain representing Technical, Business , Audit, Information Security, Policy, Regulation, Customer Services, Consultation, Strategic Business Development, Sales and Marketing areas of their organizations.
