One million more closed-circuit television cameras will be installed in Bangkok to improve public safety, a top police official said. The additional CCTV cameras would be installed as part of the city\'s \"Miracle Eyes\" project aimed at using security cameras for crime prevention and suppression, Metropolitan Police Bureau Chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang said Thursday. Footage from surveillance cameras can help prevent crimes and facilitate police investigation of crimes, increasing public safety, he said. Government installations such as Bangkok\'s Government House, Parliament and residences of important persons would be equipped with cameras, along with business establishments and residential neighborhoods, the Bangkok Post reported. The cameras would be monitored from a control center at Metropolitan Police headquarters and at 88 city police stations around the city, officials said.
