The 3rd Saudi Ibtikar Exhibition for inventions and inventors kicked off here with the participation of several Kuwaiti inventors. The five-day event, themed "With Invention We Create Knowledge Society," is organized by King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity in cooperation with the Saudi energy giant Aramco. About 200 inventors, several research centers and educational institutions are contributing to the exhibition including Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity from Kuwait. Ibtikar 2013 is one of the largest and most important exhibitions specialized in knowledge invention and innovation in the Middle East. It is a platform for the dissemination of culture of invention and innovation to the society and creating links between inventors and investors in order to create knowledge society. The innovations cover various domains including water, oil, gas, petrochemicals, renewable energy, information and communication technology, healthcare and others. Ibtikar 2013 hosts up to 800 concomitant activities to enhance the major goal of the exhibit, highlighting the potentials in invention and innovation. These activities are directed towards reinforcing and developing those potentials as well as spreading and developing the culture of invention and innovation in the society. The concomitant activities vary between lectures, interactive workshops, thinking and discussion sessions and the interactive pavilion of the exhibit.
