If your plans for today involve a session on the PlayStation Network, you\'d better think again. The PSN is set to be down for thirteen hours today for routine maintenance. According to Matthew Harper, senior manager for PlayStation Digital Platforms, the network will go offline at about 6.00am PDT, returning at around 7.00 this evening. \"During much of this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online,\" he says. \"PSN enabled websites will not be able to service users.\" The company says it will keep users updated on its Twitter feed, here. Some users, though, are annoyed that the company gave such short notice of the downtime, with a message only being posted around eight hours in advance. \"The extremely late notice of downtime MUST stop,\" complains one. \"If you\'re going to do it this often, let us know before night b4.\" The downtime is ascribed to \'routine maintenance\' - and it\'s only a few weeks since the last time this happened. PSN users also had a long period of enforced inactivity last year when the service was hacked. On this occasion, it won\'t be possible to carry on playing by staying logged in throughout the maintenance period, as users have been able in the past.
