The Ministry of Labour (MoL) announced that its website provides a wide range of electronic services for employers and workers. With the launch of “e-netwasal” service, employers are now able to receive all relevant information such as company employee list and work permit status on the ministry’s website. Moreover, employees can also obtain detailed information regarding their labour cards, contracts, etc. The electronic service was launched to strengthen the communication between the ministry and company owners and their employees. The Ministry pointed out that the number of workers who visited “e-netwasal” reached 1,387,245 since the launch of its service. The ministry is keen to expand its electronic services to reach a greater number of people and to ease procedures 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so that there is no need to visit the ministry, a source at the ministry explained. Employers are eligible to register at the website and use the “e-netwasal” services free of charge. Workers, however, are only able to register through their employer. Employers can also use the service to transfer all the salaries. In addition, workers can use the “Ratibi” service to report a salary delay in case it is not transferred after 15 days. Moreover, for clarification purposes, the Ministry of Labour uploaded the UAE Labour Law on its website and made it available for workers and employers. The Ministry also uploaded new decrees and circulars on its website, including the new system for classifying private sector establishments operating in the UAE, fees and fines issued by the Ministry. The website also provides information about the rules and conditions for issuing new work permits and internal work permits such as part-time work permits, temporary work permits, juvenile work permits and work permits for those under the sponsorship of their relatives.
