Human Rights Minister Houriah Mashhor discussed with United Nations Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, Flavia Pansieri ,the developments of human rights situation. This came on the sidelines of Mashhor’s participation in the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), held in the Hague during the period (July 7 -10 ). The Human Rights Minister, who heads the group of discrimination and violence against women and marginalized groups, briefed Pansieri on the implementation of the government program on human rights, as well as the activities of the national dialogue conference, especially those related to human rights in Yemen. The Conference discussed the achievements since the Cairo Conference in 1994 and the obstacles and challenges. The conference calls for taking advantage of the lessons and experiences of some countries and regions that have achieved tangible development indicators, and also calls for a partnership between governments and national and international civil society organizations and with the United Nations organizations and donor countries. Yemen is expected to present its comprehensive regular national report on human rights conditions during the meeting of the Human Rights Council at the end of next October in Geneva.
