A woman has been charged with stealing $2,300 dropped by the man ahead of her in line at a Philadelphia-area convenience store, police said. The woman, a 28-year-old Clifton Heights resident, was arrested after Philadelphia TV stations aired footage from the security camera at the Wawa in Upper Darby, WPVI-TV, Philadelphia, reported. She is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. The video showed something falling from Jim Duffy\'s pocket as he waited in the checkout line. The woman behind him quickly scoops something up, puts down the items she was going to purchase and heads outside. Duffy was planning to use the money as down payment on a car. He is currently driving a Honda with more than 200,000 miles on the odometer. \"Maybe she just needed the money really bad or something. I started thinking what would I do, naturally I\'d give it back to the person,\" Duffy said. Duffy helped solve the crime. He remembered having the money in the store and persuaded the manager there, after a couple of visits, to let him look at the security video. So far, police say, they have recovered none of Duffy\'s cash.
