UAE police women's team wins USIP Practical Shooting competition

Over 800 police personnel from over 51 countries are currently in the capital to take part in the 2nd USIP World Police Games, which kicked off on Saturday, and run until 10th November. The athletes are competing in four disciplines, tactical shooting, swimming, judo and Jiu-Jitsu.

In yesterday's events, the UAE's women team won the gold and silver in the Practical Shooting individual and team competitions.

USIP President, Lt. Gen. Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah, commended the UAE women's team and their victories against the world's elite shooters.

The Practical Shooting competition was held for the first time this year, aimed at improving shooting skills of police forces.

The USIP is the official World Police Sport Union and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee, IOC. One of the tasks of the USIP is to promote and encourage sports within all police forces on all continents of the world. The USIP also has the tasks for the primarily organisation of the Official World Police Championships in different sports disciplines. The World Police Championships are held every year.
