At least two doctors in the northern city of Genoa are under investigation for reportedly leaving a tube in a woman\'s abdomen after removing her appendix 22 years ago. The 41-year old woman being treated for chronic colitis was admitted to the hospital with strong stomach pains March 2012. After ordering a sonogram, doctors operated to remove a 12-centimeter drainage tube that they discovered had been left in the woman\'s abdomen during her 1989 surgery. Investigators are examining hospital records to trace the responsible surgeons\' identities.
