An 18-year-old Tibetan nun set herself on fire in Tibet Saturday evening and shouted anti-Chinese government slogans as she burned, Voice of America reported. Police took away the woman, identified by VOA\'s Tibetan exile sources as Tenzin Choedron of the Mame nunnery, and her condition was not known. She was the 22nd Tibetan to engage in self-immolation as a protest against Chinese rule in the 11 months, the U.S. network said. The incident took place in Raruwa township of Ngaba County in eastern Tibet. There has been an ongoing movement for Tibetan self-determination since China took control of the region in 1959 and the unrest has trended upward in recent months. The Chinese government condemns self-immolation as a form of terrorism. Radio Free Asia reported a Tibetan monk set himself on fire Wednesday in Qinghai province, where about 1,000 Tibetans had protested. The network said its sources said Chinese police killed two fugitive protesters -- a Tibetan monk and his brother -- Thursday in Sichuan province.
