The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has concluded its first workshop on training kits for official governmental institutions and NGOs regarding the assimilation of the needs of women in development. During the workshop expert on development and capacity building consultant Elham Al-Fottaim presented an informative lecture for the workshop participants. The training kit included topics pertaining to introducing the Equal Opportunities Units (EOUs), the concept of assimilation of women's needs in development, invitation skills, garnering support aimed to pave the way for EOUs to function in the various governmental ministries and departments. Representatives from the Ministry of Labor, the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), Housing Ministry, Works' Ministry, Industry and Commerce Ministry, the Information Affairs Authority (IAA), the Municipalities and Urban Planning Ministry, Culture Ministry, Health Ministry (MOH), House of Representatives, the Economic Development Board (EDB), the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), NGOs and representatives of Bahrain's Women Union, the Bahrain Society for Family Welfare, the Muslim Education Society, the Bahrain Society of Engineers, the Bahrain Secretarial Society, the Bahrain Society for Training and Human Resources Development. HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had issued Royal Decree No.: 14/2011 regarding creation and organizing of the National Committee for Follow-up and Implementation of the National Model for Assimilation of Women's Needs in the Government Action Program initiated by the SCW's President HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. The committee is an outcome of the first National Conference for Bahraini Women which constitutes a landmark in the progressive march of Bahraini women to activate women's role and assimilate their need in development. It is worth mentioning that a number of government ministries and institutions namely Ministry for Social Development, Shura Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Organization for Youths and Sports (GOYS), the Information Affairs Authority (IAA), Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Health, National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), Ministry of Finance, House of Representatives, the Economic Development Board (EDB), Ministry of Industry and Commerce have earlier established their own EOUs.
