A 33-year-old Polish woman was raped by a cab driver in the Indian capital early Friday morning, said police Saturday. A zero first information report, which will be numbered later by the police station under whose jurisdiction the crime occurred, has been registered in Delhi about the case, police said. The victim said she was raped by the driver of a cab who offered her a ride on a highway from Uttar Pradesh state to Delhi midnight of Jan. 2. She later fell unconscious and realized after waking up that she had been assaulted sexually outside a railway station in south Delhi. Foreign women travellers and visitors are frequently victimized by sexual assaulters in India. Some foreign missions here have warned its nationals against accepting hospitalities from local strangers such as drink, food and automobile ride.
