HRH Princess Sabeeka honours GPIC President .

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women(SCW), received at SCW headquarters today sponsors of the Bahraini Women’s Day "Women in the Engineering Field", headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the High Supervisory Committee of the Bahraini Women’s Day 2017 Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

HRH Princess Sabeeka was presented with the concluding report on the Bahraini Women’s Day 2017 work programme. She honoured the Deputy Premier for supervising the committee’s work which resulted in an outstanding outcome and quality recommendations which will greatly influence women’s presence in the engineering field. She also honoured President of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Dr. Abdulrahman Jawaheri for being chosen the personality supporting advancement of Bahraini women in the society, from the private sector institutions.

HRH Princess Sabeeka underlined the importance of the Bahraini Women’s Day and the direct follow-up on it by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, pointing out success of the activities held to mark it. She also praised the efforts of the High Supervisory Committee and its executive sub-committees in ensuring success of this year’s event. She also thanked every institution that contributed to this success. She also hailed the results of the best memorial design competition "Fakher" which aimed to engage young architects in designing a memorial embodying the development march of Bahraini women and showcasing architectural development of modern landmarks in Bahrain.

On his part, Shaikh Khalid expressed thanks and appreciation to HRH Princess Sabeeka on behalf of the High Supervisory Committee members. He pointed out the efforts made by the committee, in cooperation with the SCW Secretariat General team, to spotlight the achievements of Bahraini women in the engineering field, highlighting challenges and tackling them.
