Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), stressed that her Award for Bahraini Women Empowerment, which was set up by a royal decree in 2004, has become a main tool for SCW to translate HM the King’s vision regarding women into programmes and practices.
She was speaking as she patronised today a ceremony, held at SCW headquarters, to announce the results of the award’s fifth edition.
HRH Princess Sabeeka hailed the award’s outcome, stressing its ability to promote quality standards to boost the presence of Bahraini women in the public and private sectors. She praised the award’s committee and international advisory panel in improving the outcome of the award. She also lauded the great interest given to it by the public and private sectors, congratulating the winners of the 5th edition which are the Health Ministry, the Youth and Sport Ministry and the Economic Development Board, from the public Sector. From the private sector, the award was grabbed by the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Bahrain Airport Company and Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco).
HRH Princess Sabeeka toured the associated exhibition and got informed about outstanding practices in empowering women that are applied in a number of institutions in the public and private sectors.
SCW Secretary General Hala Al Ansari gave a speech during the celebration to announce the results of the 5th edition of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women Empowerment.
She underlined the direct follow up of HRH Princess Sabeeka on the award and its development since its inception, pointing out its international reputation as a distinguished model in integrating women’s needs in the development process.
