Health Ministry today celebrated the Bahraini Women’s Day themed "Women in the Engineering Field". Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh patronized the festival in the presence of the ministry’s officials and staff.
The minister, in her speech, extended congratulations to the royal leadership and HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), wishing Bahrain further progress and happiness.
She welcomed the SCW President’ initiative to proclaim 1 December as the Bahraini Women’s Day. She took pride in the fifth edition of the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Women Empowerment claimed by the Health Ministry from the public sector. She also noted the ministry’s achievement at the Gulf level as it won the best institution for the empowerment of women during the 2017 Global Forum on Human Resources for Health held in Abu Dhabi.
She singled Assistant Undersecretary for resources and Services, Head of Equal Opportunities Committee out for her outstanding efforts to accentuate the Bahraini women’s achievements 2014-2017.
She also congratulated the ministry’s staff marking the occasion, commending their endeavour to deliver high standard health services.
She stressed the ministry’s keenness on supporting women in the health sector and improving health and therapeutic services.
