Saira Afzal Tarar said in the past regime, licenses were granted for establishing new colleges without following proper rules and regulations.
She said the committee formed by the Supreme Court was consisted of Vice Chancellors of the public universities and it was hoped they would ensure transparency in running the matters.
Public sector universities were providing best education on lower expenses that was why most of the students preferred to get admission in the public sector universities.
