Chief Executive of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), Dr Jawaher Shaheen Al Mudhahki, has congratulated the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Bayan School, led by Dr. May bint Suleiman Al-Otaibi, on the school’s winning the 2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize in the Global High Schools category.
The Bahrain Bayan School’s "ECOLAB 360" project came first in the award in which a total of 1800 projects from all over the world participated.
The victory is within the goals set by the leadership through the education development strategies and the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030, to enhance Bahraini schools’ leadership in sustainable quality according to the best standards and international practices to prepare a generation with sustainable knowledge and creative potentials.
Dr. Al Mudhahki lauded the exploit reflecting the concerted efforts exerted by the education development officials in the kingdom, in line with the approach spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to develop the capacities of Bahraini youngsters, enhance their cultural level and empower them intellectually.
The royal vision has been followed up by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, and backed by Deputy Premier and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, she said.
BQA chief voiced her deep pride in the milestone educational achievement which adds to Bahrain’s rich record in this regard, stressing that the victory of the Bahrain Bayan School’s 11-student team proves the outstanding capabilities of Bahraini students.
She paid tribute to the Bahrain Bayan School’s administrative and teaching staff for their efforts to develop the students’ skills and talent.
