Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has received good response to the possible partnership for student and skilled workforce recruitment in India, its Assistant Registrar, Academic Management Division, Shahrizai Sarif said. \"We came here to seek partnerships for recruiting students from India for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at UMP. \"So far, there has been good response not only for student recruitment but also skilled workforce from the university, he told Bernama on the sidelines of Showcase Malaysia 2012, a three-day event that ends here today. At present, UMP has 7,000 undergraduates and 300 post-graduate students. Foreign students comprise only a small percentage of the total and UMP wants to increase the quantum. UMP, established in 2002, has students from China and the Middle East, mainly from Yemen and Sudan. As for the workforce, Shahrizai said Pune-based recruitment companies are keen to hire students directly, from the management and mechanical engineering faculties.
