Tehran University granted on Monday Chairman of the Kuwaiti Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain's Prize for Poetic Creativity Abdulaziz Al-Babtain an honorary doctorate for his cultural efforts in Iran. The ceremony in the Amini Hall at the university hosted a number of students and professors from the university, including scientific, cultural, academic and diplomatic figures. During the ceremony, a brief presentation of Al-Babtain's Prize foundation history took place, including contribution by poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain to education and cultural activities in Iran. Abdulaziz Al-Babtain in a speech marking the ceremony expressed his thanks for the kind gesture and the honorary doctorate given by Tehran University to an Arab personality, which he described as an national honor to Kuwait's leadership and people, undersecoring as well importance of communication and bringing views closer. The Kuwaiti poet added that such an honorary recognition, including all recognitions he has received from various countries, institutions, and leaders are for Kuwait due to unlimited care for people under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-Babtain also thanked the president of Tehran University, professors, and students for this honor, praising the university for "being one of the most prominent Islamic Universities that have made scientific research a top priority and set up programs that incline students and researchers to be creative and innovative in accordance with the advanced scientific programs." Later, Abdulaziz Al-Babtain said in a statement to KUNA that this grant or "the certificate which was given to me was special because it was from an Islamic country, secondly, because being the first Arab to receive it." "I am very happy with this honor, as much as I feel happy is as much as I feel for all the responsibilities that comes with I," Al-Babtain added. The Kuwaiti poet added he hopes that this award will be an incentive to work more in favor of the Arab and Islamic culture and communication between peoples. On the sideline of the ceremony, Al-Babtain met with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Dr. Ali Janati.
