The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Pakistan on Friday presented a check of amount USD 0.5 million as an imminent financial assistance to a leading Pakistani university in federal capital Islamabad.
The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Islamabad, Nawaf Abdul Aziz Al Enezi handed over the check to the President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh in a ceremony at the Kuwait Embassy.
In an interview with KUNA, the Kuwait Ambassador said that IIUI enjoyed the care and attention by Dr. Ahmad who is following footsteps of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Al-Sabah.
Al Enezi said that His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Al-Sabah is leading an active role in the services of the issues of the Islamic nation, not in Pakistan only but in the whole world. He said, "His Highness became a beacon for the Islamic world in humanitarian work and an example of generosity." The Ambassador praised the efforts by the Saudi national president of IIUI in the field of science and culture offered by the university for the children of the Muslims. He also lauded the university president's brotherly relations linking Saudi Arabia with State of Kuwait.
President IIUI in a statement to KUNA said, "We at the IIUI warmly appreciate the generous support and help provided through the Embassy of Kuwait. Kuwait has a longstanding history of cooperation with the International Islamic University and construction of Kuwait Hostel in the university in past is a clear indicator in this regard." He further said that on behalf of IIUI, "I am thankful to His Excellency Amir of Kuwait, his Deputy, Government of Kuwait and Honorable Ambassador of Kuwait in Islamabad for their cooperation with this university which is one of the leading academic institutions in the Muslim world."
