On Wednesday, January 4th 2012, KFUPM launched the \"Alumni Portal\", which is a web site that aims to enhance communication and the development of the relationship between the university and its graduates. Among the  Attendances of the inauguration ceremony H.E. Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan the Rector of KFUPM, and Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Vice President of Saudi Aramco, and the engineer Abdullah Bugshan and Vice Rector and Deans of the university. Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan mentioned that the university\'s graduates feel a great affiliation toward the university which had provided them with proper education and excellent training and the necessary skills for the appropriate job to become leaders in both public and private sectors. “The seriousness of the university in dealing with students and their desire to acquire science and knowledge and skills to increase their ability to perform the requirements of the work assigned to them, makes its graduates feel more affiliation to the University and strengthen the ties with it\" said Dr. Al-Sultan. On the other hand, Mr. Abdullah Bugshan, an engineer graduate of the university, was pleased to the launch of the \"Aumni Portal\", and said that we always (the graduates) have discussions about the Portal and we consider it an important gateway to enhance communication between all of the graduates who have deep affiliation to the University. He added that the role of businessmen is important in spreading the culture of scientific research and promote community awareness of its vital role in achieving progress and development. The Assistant Executive Director of the Waqf Fund of the university Dr. Mohammed Zahrani said that the Portal is the first point of contact between the University and its graduates, and added that the Portal is one of several programs that will be launched by the university to enhance communication with the graduates, noting that it allows graduates to exchange news and search for friends and colleagues, and promote interest among those who have creativity interest in common. ​
