The 15th meeting of the Committee of Deans of Admission and Registration at GCC Universities and Higher Education Institutions today concluded with a set of recommendations, including the employment of portable devices systems technologies in the admission and registration processes, review of the developments in the five-year plan of the committee for the coming period up to 2020, and automatic conversion from the centralization to the decentralization in the implementation of admission and registration processes. Dr. Ali bin Saud al- Bimani, Vice- Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) sponsored the closing ceremony at the Inter-Continental Qurum Hotel. The ceremony was organized by the Deanship of Admission and Registration at SQU, in collaboration with the Committee of Deans of Admissions at the GCC Universities and Higher Education Institutions, within the context of strengthening the GCC joint action through the exchange of experiences between the GCC universities in the field of admission and registration programs for undergraduate studies. In the first session of the meeting, Dr. Hilal al- Shithani, presented a working paper on the strategic dimension of the role of the admission and registration in higher education institutions, a working paper by Dr. Abdul Majeed al-Ghamdi on the experience of Umm Al Qura University in automatic transfer from the centralization to authority delegation, and a working paper for electronic services in the student records at the University of A’Dammam by Dr. Adel al- Dhowaihi. The second session dealt with a working paper on Al Qaseem University experience with grants students by Dr. Fahd al-Ahmad, and a working paper on recent electronic trends in the admission and registration at King Khalid University by Dr. Sultan al- Farih, a working paper on the development of admission and registration mechanisms at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in Kuwait by Dr. Rabah al- Najadah, and a working paper on the web portal of the committee of GCC deans of admission and registration by Professor Saad al- Mowalad. The concluding meeting also reviewed the recommendations and proposals of the 14th meeting of the committee held at King Abdul Aziz University in Riyadh and a follow up report of their implementation
