Director of the South Korean Cultural Centre in Cairo Park Jae Yang on Thursday said that education was the main reason behind the economic boom achieved by his country.
In a seminar held at Bani Suef University, Park said that the South Korean government gave the largest share of the country's overall budget, 20%, to education.
In the seminar dubbed "Education in South Korea", the Korean official said that education has played a pivotal role in the South Korea's social and cultural development.
Education has also taken part in the democratic transition and political development in South Korea, Park added.
He called on the Egyptian students to apply for undergraduate and graduate scholarships offered by the South Korean government.
