President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on Monday with Education Minister Moheb el Rafie to review major problems facing the education in Egypt.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed his ministry's ongoing efforts to address the problem of overcrowded classrooms and the lack of safe school infrastructure, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
He presented the ongoing procedures to build 100 schools before the end of June 2015 and complete maintenance at schools.
President Sisi ordered launching a national campaign to develop and upgrade the Egyptian schools and finalize all renovation works during the summer vacation.
He stressed the importance of setting ethics, principles and ideals as tools to evaluate students side by side with developing the physical fitness.
He also called for accurately evaluating students in a manner that reveals their true skills, updating the methodology and developing the school curriculum.
