Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mebarki Mohamed said Monday that the academic year 2014-2015 started "normally" in all academic institutions across the country.
In an interview with APS, the Minister stressed that the 2014-2015 academic year began this year last September 7th, earlier than the past year, and all the conditions were met for this purpose, especially with the resumption of catering, accommodation and transport services since September 1.
Regarding the new structures of the sector, Mebarki said the campus network has "significantly improved" with the opening of new structures such as the National Polytechnic College, the National School of Biotechnology in Constantine and three medical schools in Ouargla, Laghouat and Bechar.
The academic year has been marked by the enlargement of the national career map, which brought to 41 the number of courses in addition to the reorganization of higher education sector in Algiers with the relocation of three higher schools to Kolea (Tipaza, 50 km west of Algiers), namely the Graduate School of Business and Economics, the School of Commerce, the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics and the Graduate School of Management in addition to the transfer of the faculties of medical sciences and law to their new buildings.
