Chief of Centre for Education Development Dr Rida al-Khayat

Chief of the National Center for Education Development Dr. Rida Al-Khayat stressed the importance of the center's projects in delivering comprehensive educational advances to the public.
Al-Khayat presented in a press conference held, Sunday, a detailed account of the center's latest social and educational activities and projects.
He emphasized the importance of giving support to the center to concur challenges that might face education development in the age of globalization and to keep up with the ever growing information technologies.
He added that providing the finest methods of education through adjusting educational standards that express qualitative level is one of the most important projects the center is undertaking.
He explained that all components of the educational process: students, teachers, management and curriculum should be of high standards.
Al-Khayat noted that the center will conduct two international field surveys (TIMSS and PIRLS) for fourth and fifth grades students in subjects of science, mathematics, English and Arabic languages in March and April of 2015.
These tests are to measure impact of education on the students, to find out the strengths and weaknesses to make corrective decisions and to develop learning itself.
He called on all parents to cooperate with these field studies in order to be a part of improving the educational process in the country.
The center's chief pointed out that one of the objectives the center tries to achieve is giving professional license to teachers in public and private sectors, which is still under implementation.
The National Center for Education development functions under the umbrella and was established through Amiri decree No.308/2006 for the purpose of developing education in Kuwait based on scientific methodology.
