His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa deputised State Minister for Follow-up Affairs Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa to attend a graduation ceremony at the Gulf Hotel held by AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) for its tenth batch of 685 graduates from various disciplines.
The celebration to honour holders of PhD, Master Degree, Higher Studies and Bachelor Degree was attended by Special Envoy of the Philippines President to the GCC Countries, Honorary President of AMA Educational System and President of AMA International University Amable Aguiluz, Education Minister Dr. Majid Nuaimi, senior officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps and the graduates' parents.
The State Minister for Follow-up Affairs conveyed the greetings of HRH the Premier, the patron of the ceremony, to the graduates and their families as well as his best wishes of more success to them. He underlined the great care given by the leadership and the government to the educational sector out of belief in the need to invest in human resources, being the cornerstone of the comprehensive development march.
He pointed out that strategic planning in education is a feature of civilised countries. Therefore, he added, Bahrain is keen on broadening the scope of cooperation with other countries to avail of international experiences in this respect. The aim, he stressed, is to apply up-to-date academic programmes that are in conformity with Bahrain's development priorities and the needs of the labour market. He also lauded the pioneering educational and cultural role of AMAIUB, congratulating the graduates and their parents and wishing them further success.
Mr. Aguiluz extended thanks and respect to HRH the Prime Minister for his annual patronage of the graduation ceremonies of AMAIUB and unflinching support to education. He hailed the high level of cooperation between Bahrain and the university, praising the kingdom's development in various fields.
