Meeting

Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa chaired at the Gudaibiya Palace today the first meeting of the Supreme Council for Education and Training (SCET).
The Deputy Premier welcome the SCET members, and wished them every success.
He pointed out that His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa's Edict to forming the SCET proved the crucial role it would play in devising, developing and following up on education and training policies so as to cope with the economic and development boom witnessed by the kingdom.
It also testified to the crucial role of education and training in sustainable development, he said, affirming the importance of the National Project for Education and Training, and the initiatives that emanated from it.
He thanked all members of the National Committee for the Development of Education and Training for the tremendous efforts they had exerted.
The council discussed the 17th batch of the review reports issued by the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (QQA).
In this regard, it reviewed the results of the National Exams 2014 and compared them to those held between 2009 and 2013, and issued many recommendations aiming to enhance the students' performance during those exams.
The Education Ministry submitted a report on progress made so far regarding the School Time Improvement Project between 2008 and 2014.
The report indicated a progress in the schools' performance and an improvement level of educational services and school facilities, as well as increase in success rates.
