Cairo - MENA
The Arab League (AL) called for stepping up efforts to protect the education process in the Palestinian territories and offer educational programs to Palestinian students, especially prisoners and detainees in the Israeli jails.
Delivering a speech at the opening meeting of the 91st session of the Education Programs Committee for Arab students in the occupied Arab territories, Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Affairs Mohamed Sobeih said that the education is a great value and one of the key pillars that help Palestinians to face the Israeli occupation.
He denounced the ongoing Israeli practices against the Palestinian people, pointing to the recent formation of the Israeli cabinet that includes ministers seeking to destroy peace talks.
The Palestinian people should be provided with necessary support to stand against the Israeli occupation, the AL official said.
Also, he called for organizing further campaigns at universities and institutions around the world to emphasize the rights of the Palestinian people.
