Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb praised the strength of relations binding Egypt and Indonesia.

During a meeting on Sunday with Mohamed Zine, the governor of the Indonesian province of Banjara, the Grand Imam expressed Al Azhar's readiness to establish Azharite institutes in Indonesia and provide them with teachers and books to confront extremism.

The Indonesian official appreciated the role of Al Azhar in his country, pointing out that the Indonesian government was looking forward to more cooperation with Al Azhar.
