Students in Amman

The Jordanian cabinet inked here Monday with the European Union (EU) an agreement where the EU will donate 55 million euros to support the Jordanian Education Ministry in dealing with the asylum crisis and accommodating the Syrian students.

The two sides signed also another agreement through which the Arab country will get 5.5 million euros to develop the Jordanian higher education field.

Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury, who signed the two agreements on behalf of the Jordanian government, said that the first agreement will help the ministry improve educational services offered to about 140.000 Syrian students registered in the governmental schools.

He underlined that the second agreement will promote the dialogue between the cultures as it will facilitate the traveling of about 350 to 400 students of higher education to the UK and Europe.
