Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hisham Sharaf discussed here on Thursday with the World Health Organization (WHO)\'s representative in Yemen Ahmed Shadoul aspects of mutual cooperation between the ministry and the WHO in high education and research area. The meeting touched on the possibilities of the WHO\'s contribution in evaluating the conditions of colleges of medicine and health sciences in the Yemeni public and private universities, as well as mechanism of benefiting from the organization\'s experience according to the regional and international standards. The meeting also reviewed projects carried out by the WHO to develop programs and curricula in colleges of medicine at Sana\'a and Aden universities. Sharaf noted to the ministry\'s need to evaluate education in medicine colleges in the Yemeni universities, for this kind of education is directly related to people\'s lives, hailing the efforts of the WHO in upgrading the medical education in Yemen. For his part, the WHO representative affirmed the organization\'s keenness to develop cooperation with Yemen, and expressed the readiness of the WHO to include a number of projects related to higher education in its plan for the years (2014_2015).
