Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi discussed on Tuesday with the Non-Resident Director-General of the British Council in Yemen ,Adrian Chadwick, aspects of joint cooperation in the cultural and educational fields. The meeting touched upon dealt with the English language teaching programs and scholarships offered to Yemen through the British Council and ways of enhancing them. Al-Qirbi praised the role of the British Council in the areas of culture and education, noting to the importance of lifting the Council’s support level for the Diplomatic Institute at the Foreign Ministry. He pointed out that the level of the English language education in Yemen has become better than it was in the past, expressing his hope for further cooperation between Yemen and the Council in the future. For his part, the Director-General of the Council emphasized the importance of the positive relationship between raising the level of education in English and enhancing the sustainable economic development. He pointed out that the Council aims to establish cultural relations between the countries, expressing his hope to promote the cultural relations between Yemen and the United Kingdom.
