Officials at South Carolina State University said a spill in a chemistry lab triggered an explosion that injured five people, none seriously. The blast occurred late Monday afternoon at the university\'s Leroy Davis Science Complex, WIS-TV, Columbia, reported. Police told WLTX-TV, Columbia, 10 to 15 people were in the chemistry lab at the time. Four students and one teaching assistant were taken to Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg but their injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police said. Search teams went through the building to make sure there were no additional victims. The science building was expected to reopen Tuesday after decontamination is completed.
