A student was taken into custody in Katy, Texas, after a potential explosive device was found at Seven Lakes High School, school district officials said. The school was safely evacuated around 10 a.m. after Katy Independent School District police learned of a perceived threat on campus, the district said. Officials said the students were led to the football and baseball fields for their safety while investigators searched the campus. A potential explosive device was identified inside the building at approximately 11 a.m. and the Houston Police Department bomb squad was called. A student suspect was subsequently taken into custody, the school district said on its website. Students were transported by bus to the Seven Lakes Junior High stadium around 12:45 p.m. and dismissed for the day at 1:30 p.m.
