The Cabinet held its regular meeting on Friday at Carthage Palace, under the chairmanship of Caretaker President Foued Mebazaa and in the presence of Interim Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi. The meeting looked at different issues, particularly the security situation and preparations for the start of the school and academic years, as well as at draft decree-laws. The Cabinet issued an urgent call to ensure compliance with the law and discipline required by the fact of belonging to the security body whose duty is to guarantee the safety of the citizens and defend the foundations of the State through enforcement of provisions of the state of emergency. The meeting also adopted two decree-laws on the organisation of parties and associations and two other draft decree-laws authorising the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to open, each, an office in Tunis.
