Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi met today with directors and directresses of intermediate schools in the Ministry premises in the presence of a number of Education Ministry officials. During the meeting future plans to develop intermediate schools in the light of implementation of the Schools Performance Improvement Scheme to comprise 30 intermediate schools next year aimed at upgrading the output of schools and develop schools performance to obtain at least a \"GOOD\" rating during QAAT auditing. Also during the meeting, a presentation was made by the Vocational Training and Development directorate regarding the Ministry\'s plan for ministry employees for next academic year 2012-2013 asserting that priority is given in this plan to promote teachers scale. Also, a presentation was made on the plan of the Private Education directorate aimed at more welfare to students who have special needs as part of the Ministry\'s policy to assimilate all adequate students into public schools. Also, a presentation was made regarding 40 schools which shall be included in the comprehensive maintenance program for summertime vacations this year: 14 intermediate schools shall undergo maintenance in collaboration with the Public Works Ministry, 44 intermediate schools shall undergo complete electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning jobs. In a similar tone, it was revealed that 2795 window- and 768 split-unit air-conditioners shall installed in 26 intermediate schools as part of preventative maintenance in consideration for an amount of BD 0.5 million. Also, the tiling of gym halls in three intermediate schools shall be duly replaced; pre-fab classrooms shall be shifted to seven intermediate schools. Also, it was revealed that books printing job was finalized and that most books are now in schools ready for next school year. Meanwhile, upgraded books are well underway in the printing presses and for this purpose a work team shall visit schools in order to determine their needs and to supply them accordingly. Finally, the Minister of Education and ministry officials explored the requirements of schools and answered questions posed by the directors regarding educational affairs and discussed constructive suggestion aimed at developing the intermediate schools stage.
