The Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) has honoured six Qatari graduates who completed their one-year graduate fellowship programme (GFP). The GFP is a tailor-made programme for highly motivated new Qatari graduates seeking a career as financial services professionals. It offers first-hand experience working as a regulator in a world-class regulatory organisation, under the guidance of personal mentors who are subject matter experts in financial regulation. The graduates of this year’s programme are Dalal al-Thani, Saif al-Thani, Fatema al-Naama, Fatima al-Ansari, Ibtesam al-Qayed and Kholoud al-Sada. During their 12-month programme, the graduates rotated through various departments within the regulatory authority to gain work experience including authorisation and supervision, policy and enforcement and corporate communications. “The QFCRA is committed to training and developing talented Qatari graduates to help them achieve their potential as they commence a career in the financial services industry,” its CEO Michael Ryan said. Since its launch in 2006, 20 graduates have participated in the GFP, many of whom have accepted permanent positions at the QFCRA. On September 16, the QFCRA will launch the next GFP for the year 2012-13. From gulf times.
