A 19-year-old Louisiana State University student has been charged for allegedly trying to kill her mother to collect an inheritance, officials said. Nicole Boover\'s bond was set at $500,000 Wednesday on the attempted first-degree murder charge, The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported. Magistrate Commissioner Robert Blackburn also appointed a public defender for Boover. Prosecutors said Boover knocked on her mother\'s front door early Monday. When her mother opened the door, Boover allegedly aimed a silver handgun at her, police said. The mother, whose name was not reported, slammed the door shut and locked it. Boover then allegedly fired three shots at the door and fled in her car back to her dorm room on LSU\'s campus, police said. Her mother was not injured. Nathan Andrew Yuhas, 18, Boover\'s alleged accomplice and fellow LSU student, confessed he was promised $50,000 of Boover\'s inheritance for helping with the attempted murder, court documents state.
