Omar bin Khattab School and Al Qadisia Boys School cruised into the pre-quarter-finals of the Group ‘B’ of the volleyball tournament of the Schools Olympic Programme (SOP) 2013-2014, here last night. Khattab beat Al Andalus private 2-0 while Abi Ayoub Al Ansari outclassed Jordanian School 2-0. In another Group B match, Al Qadisia defeated Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani 2-0 and Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud defeated Hikmah international 2-0. In the first match, Indian school outclassed their Iranian counterparts 2-0 while Lebanese school defeated Dar Al Salam Indian School 2-0. Cairo defeated Aqra English school 2-0, Royal International overcame Umm Al Qura 2-0. The Indian school then defeated Cairo 2-0 to enter the last 16 stage along with Royal International School. Elementary Boys from local and expatriate schools are currently participating in the volleyball event showcased under the theme ‘Sport and Integrity’, a Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) bulletin said Monday.
