King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Saudi Aramco signed here today an agreement for joint cooperation under which the two sides will establish a National Center for Non-destructive Tests. The agreement was signed by KACST President Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel and Saudi Aramco\'s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khalid Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Faleh in the presence of a number of officials of the two sides. Dr. Al-Suwaiyel said that the agreement aims to develop and create devices for multiple techniques of non-destructive tests, promote national acceptance of non-destructive tests services, support national scientific talents and attract and refine them in this area, create a database including specialists in this field as well as represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Union of non-destructive testing center established in 1998 and achieve economic self-dependence in the long term. For his part, Khalid Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Faleh said that the National Center will be completed in 2015, pointing out that this National Center will be the first of its kind in the region. He added that the idea of ??non-destructive tests are based on testing products without affecting their future use, ensuring their quality and saving time and money.
