A large number of Tehran University students and professors staged a rally on Saturday to voice their strong support for the Occupy Wall Street protests in the US and other western countries ruled by the capitalist system. The demonstrators began their rally in front of the Tehran University\'s mosque and are now moving toward the University\'s main gate in Enghelab Street, in Central Tehran. They are chanting anti-capitalism slogans like \"Down with the US\", \"Down with Britain\" and \"Down with Israel\" to show their hatred for the US pro-capitalism and pro-Zionist policies. Iranian officials and people have on various occasions voiced their strong support for both the popular uprisings in the Middle-East and anti-capitalism protests in Europe and the US. In a last case, the Iranian students gathered in front of the Swiss Embassy - which hosts the US interests section in Iran - on Monday to voice support for anti-capitalism protests throughout the US and condemn the brutal clampdown on peaceful demonstrations by the US police. The students congregated in front of the embassy complex Monday night and lit candles in a show of support for the anti-capitalism rallies and to protest at the suppression of demonstrators by the police and security forces in the US and Europe. The students also condemned the US police for taking heaters away from the Wall Street protesters under the pretext of precautionary measures, and stockpiled their blankets in front of the embassy complex to gift them to the American protestors.
