Giatmara will open its first overseas skill training centre in Thailand next year in a bid to offer skill trainings to Thai citizens in various fields, its chairman Datuk Shahiruddin Ab Moin said. \"Discussions on the matter will be convened between the staff of Giatmara and the relevant agencies in Thailand soon,\" he said. For a start, Shahiruddin said several basic trainings would be conducted to train the Thai citizens with skills required by their local job market. At present, he said Giatmara had over 1,200 educated and highly-skilled lecturers who could offer their knowledge and conduct trainings in 36 skill areas. He said 12 Giatmara officers and lecturers would be deployed to undergo skill training in Germany this year.
