Education chiefs in the Upper Egyptian city of Luxor have held an event in honour of Egyptian student Amany al-Nubi abdel-Aziz for her success in the Arabic grammar and classic Arabic language competition. Amany claimed a respectable second position in the pan-Arab contest. Several Egyptian education officials attended the event, including the secretary of Egypt’s Ministry of Education Safa Mahmoud, along with council leaders from the city of Esna, and hundreds of students. Amany has been praised by her teachers for the outstanding performance, and she is thought to be a big fan of Egyptian writer Abbas el-Akkad.
