The Dubai Executive Council has called for the setting up of a plan for education that matches the UAE\'s strategy and the federal educational system. The council meeting held Monday in Dubai was chaired by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. The council examined the strategic education plan of Dubai, and discussed the latest developments about the private education and human development to specify programmes and requirement for the development of private education sector and human development in a medium term. During the meeting, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) presented priorities and programmes to achieve the strategic objectives of early education, which include the requirements for social, intellectual and physical development in line with the international standards for children up to six years old. Regarding private sector, the council discussed the current situation in terms of number of private schools compared to public schools, curriculums, number of students, assessment methodology and school dropouts.
