A university student was stabbed to death in the Binodpur area of north-western Rajshahi city of Bangladesh yesterday. The victim, Abdur Rahim, 22, was a BBA student of University of Information Technology Science, a private university, and hailed from Singra area of Natore district. Witnesses said Rahim was returning to his hostel mess from the local market when some unidentified men waylaid him and stabbed him indiscriminately. “Before anyone could react, the culprits ran away,” said an eyewitness. The bystanders took the injured student to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after receiving treatment in intensive care for eight hours. Motihar police station officer in-charge Anisur Rahman said police were on the lookout for the killers.
