Undersecretary for Resources and Services, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdul Aziz Al Khalifa stressed that the educational pay scale at Ministry of Education has offered the opportunity for promotion for teachers and other educational functions.This process is carried out in accordance to a balanced vision that gathers between the right of professional promotion and the need for apprenticeship and improving the performance at the same time, which will result in the desired quality of education.Shaikh Hisham said that the ministry had established its vision of the pay scale in coordination with Civil Service Bureau based on linking the promotion with apprenticeship, and considering it as a prerequisite, in addition to the two conditions of performance and years ofexperience.Undersecretary for Resources and Services highlighted that a lot of professional gains had been achieved for the staff of educational professions at the levels of promotion and apprenticeship, thanks to the great efforts exerted by the ministry to provide opportunities for apprenticeship, and promotion of thousands of teachers. Shaikh Hisham said that this was done in coordination and cooperation with Civil Service Bureau during the last period.Undersecretary for Resources and Services pointed out that at the beginning of applying the pay scale, the teachers were granted an exceptional degree without conditioning the apprenticeship programmes in September 2004, then in January 2009.Later, the ministry provided various apprenticeship programmes through Bahrain Teachers College (BTC), and through Directorate of Training and Professional Development at the ministry, where it conditioned passing a number of hours of apprenticeship to attain the promotion, and the first batch of this apprenticeship programme was in 2013.
