Around 49.4 per cent of students who sat for the Shamel (comprehensive exam for community colleges) passed, according to Balqa Applied University President Nabil Shawaqfeh, who also heads the Shamel higher committee. A total of 11,612 students from 49 military, public and private community colleges across the Kingdom sat for the exam, 5,743 of whom passed. Shawaqfeh noted that new examination methodologies were used in this session, such as electronic grading.
